Earlier this week I hosted my second Power of the F.I.E.R.C.E Woman event and the first workshop. The workshop focused on two main objectives:

  1. Identifying your dreams and goals and
  2. Learning how to visualize them

My co-host, Justine Hornedo and I were joined by 30 women who all came willing and eager to get started on making their dreams a reality. I arrived around 5pm flustered and hot due in part to the humid weather and no air conditioning in the venue. As the women began to arrive the energy intensified and so did the temperature in the room. The warmth in the room began to get uncomfortable, but thankfully by 6:15 pm the owner arrived and the air conditioning soon began circulating throughout the room.

There were a few women in attendance from our last event, but I was pleased to see that the majority of the women were new and many I had never met before. As I mingled throughout the room introducing myself and getting to know some of the ladies, one thing became very clear, they each were ready to take that first step towards changing their lives.

Most of us have dreams, but most of us don’t know where to begin or how to take that first step. This workshop focused very specifically on helping them identify their dreams and then taking that dream and breaking it down into smaller,  more manageable goals.  Whether it’s daily, weekly, monthly, or annually all successful people set goals. They wake up each morning with a to-do-list and begin tackling each item until it is completed.

Successful people wake up and they’ve already planned their day, while unsuccessful people are scrambling to figure out what they need to do next. Their goals are very specific, big yet attainable and are aligned to their strengths. Knowing where your strengths lie is key to achieiving success. Know what you are capable of and invest all of your efforts in it, avoiding your weaknesses. Your dream is your destination, your goals are the road map that will get you there.

Below is some feedback we received from some of the workshop attendees:

There is so much I would love to accomplish, but I need to take time and plan my future. The vision board will be my first step to start on my baby steps in achieving my goals. Thank you for empowering me and encouraging me. – Liliana Cintron

I really enjoyed this workshop. I felt like this is what I needed to hear to get myself refocused again. I’m definitely recommending these workshops to my family and friends. I love the feeling of unity amongst women. We need to continue connecting with more women. We are a force to be reckoned with. – Alexa Vega

Thanks to Nancy and Justine I now have a way to start and follow my goals/dreams in a more organized way. I procrastinate a lot and hopefully that will change starting today. Thank you! – Johanna Perez

It was great having 2 professional women speak about their lives and careers. Having more women speak about their careers would be great. – Stephanie Seise

Thank you for this workshop Justine and Nancy. I really valued your input on everything about dreams and goals and needed some of this in my life. I am going to use the weekly planning idea and make a vision board to help motivate me to accomplish my future goals. – Kristina Seise
