Welcome to The Rape Capital of the World: The Victimization & Abuse of Women

While most of my posts are love and relationship driven, there are times when I come across a news article or some other current events issue that forces me to pay attention and speak up. I recently came across an article in The New York Times that highlighted a present day epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that literally had me sick to … Continue reading Welcome to The Rape Capital of the World: The Victimization & Abuse of Women

“I’m Sorry”: Have these 2 words lost their value?

These are two small words made up of 7 letters in total but the power of these words is amazing. I think I once heard somewhere (probably in a movie) that love means never having to say you’re sorry. This could be farther from the truth in my opinion and obviously a Hollywood misconception. Continue reading “I’m Sorry”: Have these 2 words lost their value?

Twitter Love: Is love One Tweet Away???

I originally posted this back in May but I was speaking with a friend recently and felt like I needed to re-post this. With the popularity of the internet and all of these various networking/social/dating sites it is no surprise that many people today are beginning to find potential love interests on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I was talking to one of my … Continue reading Twitter Love: Is love One Tweet Away???

Is it Ever a Good Idea To Go From Friends to Lovers?

In that search, we experience some good relationships and we also experience some not so good relationships. In either case, the hope is that we learn something from the experience. However, what we can never get the hang of is dealing with a … Continue reading Relationships End: Get Over It

Best Friend or Worst Enemy: What Happens When Friendships Go Wrong???

When you think about all the joys and pains, and fears, and laughter that comes with years of friendship your once so-called best friend can become your worst enemy. They in fact hold all of your deep down secrets and everything that was once sacred and shared can become the most vicious and painful of ammunition. I wonder if people think about that when they inadvertently, without thinking, end friendships. How quickly one forgets everything they once told you in confidence. Visit to My Sister’s House: (Part 1: The Doctor Visit)

Yesterday, as part of my weekly schedule, I went to visit my sister, Diana, and my brother, Johanny (aka brother-in-law). I always enjoy visiting them because I get to spend time with my nieces and nephew and I also get to whip Johanny’s ass in Jeopardy. My 2 1/2 year old nephew, JD, had a doctor’s appointment yesterday so on her way home from the doctor Diana picked me up from … Continue reading Visit to My Sister’s House: (Part 1: The Doctor Visit)
